I did not think they were as good as the times I had seen them before. I want to know, did any of you like "Jamming with Edward?" Why is it jazz and classic...I'm with you, Sal!

Why is it jazz and classical musicians and blues artists are revered for playing long into their career, yet "Rock" artists are just "flopping about"?

Sure, many put it on automatic pilot and coast through a declining career. But this weekend I saw a 76 year old Wayne Shorter, a 67 year old Fred Wesley still vibrant and working hard. Did I say still got it?

And, if any band can mail it in, Kool & The Gang, after 40 years of on the road entertaining around the world, absolutely tear it up.

Experience used to mean something, especially in music. It still does.Gene Obertohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03521444791272594982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4357001616333664522.post-77668019716255230342010-06-17T07:01:32.869-07:002010-06-17T07:01:32.869-07:00I’m sure the Stones are Happy because they think I...I’m sure the Stones are Happy because they think I’ll buy all this stuff to get my Rocks Off. They’ve Plundered My Soul before, I had to do the Casino Boogie and lay my money down on Tumbling Dice to have the bucks to hear them Rip This Joint on their last tour. 200 bucks but it was So Divine! I Let It Loose at the show, doing the Hip Shake with Sweet Virginia, Good Time Woman and a Sweet Black Angel. But my budget is Torn and Frayed because when it comes to Mick I Just Want to See His Face. I need to Stop Breaking Down and Following the River All Down the Line but I can’t help myself. When the Stones Shine A Light I’m Dancing in the Light taking a sip from the Loving Cup. When my funds get low I get the Ventilator Blues so Pass the Wine because I’m Not Signifying I’m gonna quit spending on Stones stuff. With Mick gouging fans like a Turd On The Run maybe I need a Title 5 loan. If this continues I will be the Soul Survivor of the Rolling Stones fan club.CoolSchoolnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4357001616333664522.post-53878039960593044422010-06-17T06:43:54.744-07:002010-06-17T06:43:54.744-07:00Soundsource,

Yes, the ticket price is ridiculous, but the Stones as recently as 2006, which was when I saw them last, still rock the house. And they are one of the few legendary bands who, a) have many origina members, b) always shake up their set lists, and c) still put out new music that isn't terrible.Sal Nunziatohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09221629293545204260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4357001616333664522.post-81285605903391969722010-06-17T06:32:51.860-07:002010-06-17T06:32:51.860-07:00let's all remember that bonus tracks are gener...let's all remember that bonus tracks are generally except for and occasional b-side the tracks that were not good enough to make the record ie: outtakes or demos. yes of historical interest but as usual the stones are able to take it to a new level of greed and lack of respect for their fans but hey the next time they tour you'll be able to shell out 500 bucks just to watch mick flop around to a bunch of oldies.
