I pulled out Utopia's 1982 pop gem and noticed the stub.
"Doors Open at 9:PM."
Then, a flood of memories....
1982
Me:
Doors open at 9. Opening band at 10. Todd at 11-11:15, if we're lucky. Plays until 1-1:15AM. Then, we eat.
2021
Me:
If we leave by the fourth song, we can be home by 9.
What the hell happened??

They changed the clocks.
ReplyDeleteIt sucks getting old but the alternative is worse!

Its the drugs.........
ReplyDeleteDrugs when your young for fun!
Drugs later to keep those "little problems" at bay
Drugs when your old to keep you getting older!!!!
Hahahaha. Age! Age happened.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I like your Avoid People Who...ad. Is that why you never return my phone calls??!!
ReplyDeleteHa! So true!
ReplyDeleteI have decided there is a time zone change that I was previously unaware of.
ReplyDeleteTime zone change... life zone change.

Your post made me think about the late-late-late shows we used to go to in NOLA. Like the triple bill of The Iguanas, Subdudes, and Radiators that went until 4am. Or the Voice of the Wetlands all star show where Johnny V left midshow for his next gig. At 3am. How did we do it, and still make it to Jazzfest the next day? No way I could do that now.
ReplyDeleteBTW, that Utopia album is by far my favorite. So good!
When are we getting your ratings of Utopia albums, Sal? :-)
ReplyDeleteYou didn't take a nap before the show? :-)
ReplyDelete39 years happened.
