"I AM A DJ": An Inspired Mix For The Long Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend on social media is a real drag. It's not the posts about honoring fallen heroes. That is essentially what this holiday is about. It's those awful humans who love to shame others who post photos from the beach or their backyard BBQs by reminding them that "THIS IS NOT WHAT MEMORIAL DAY IS ABOUT!"

Let me tell you something, blowhards. You can eat a hot dog and drink a few beers and still honor the military. What you can't do is pretend to be a proud American and spew some half-assed lesson at some innocent people having a good time to start their summer, while ignoring all of the un-American activity taking place in that criminal house on Pennsylvania Avenue. So crawl back inside your holes and stick your MAGA hats up your bazoozoos.

Ah...that felt good!

Now, on to business.

Between finishing up the dinner dishes and the start of the Knicks/Pacers game last night, I played DJ for about 45 minutes. I grabbed a stack of 45s, a fresh cocktail, and spun what turned out to be a fun set of music. We enjoyed it so much, I decided to share it with you.

You've heard most of these songs before, but most likely not in this order. I don't think there are any musical revelations here. It's simply something to unzip and enjoy while you're grilling, swimming or getting ready to call me an asshole.

Hey, whatever makes you happy.

Enjoy the mix.

I sure did.

  2. Later today the Emperor is planning to pantomime a ceremony at Arlington pretending to care about the sacrifices of soldiers past. Expect a self-serving MAGA rally to follow. Meanwhile, just across town, funding for veterans health care is being decimated by IEDs planted by the Emperor's stooges.

  3. "Bazoozoos"? Yes! But their heads are already up there.

"In America, the richest men are taking satisfaction in abandoning the world's poorest children to sickness and death...A majority of our elected representatives have failed to protect the American people from the abuses of an unfit president and a rogue government."

Thanks Sal and enjoy the holiday.

  6. Thanks for the songs but more importantly thanks for your words! It feels that most of the world has gone crazy. It's refreshing to discover some sane people along the rabble. Enjoy your week!

  7. Yeah, I've always wondered why the 'patriots' try to besmirch those who actually use the freedoms that others sacrificed for. It's like they're saying, "These folks died so you can have life, liberty and happiness. Just make sure you don't honor that by actually having a good time! Let them have wasted their life for NOTHING!". It's like the 'patriots' who knock celebrities for having opinions, as if there's some calibration of fame in which you reaching a certain level automatically denies your American rights to an opinion. What they really mean, is "You're more liberal than I am, so shut up!" Meanwhile, Kid Rock/Ted Nugent/some other dipwad is lionized for pwning the libs.
