Some great ones this week.

I had been putting together a mix of lesser known tracks by girl group acts but then got distracted. Roddie Joy and Dee Dee Sharp started things off before I quit.

The William Bell track is a demo that runs less than two minutes, but there's more grease in that 1:40 than most full length R&B albums.

Enjoy.

  1. That is a great W. Bell song - I've only heard of couple of discs of that box set, but it's all outstanding! Love that un-produced demo sound.

  2. I'm up for it as, first time ever, not one tune known to me. Is that what Americans call a strike out in some ballgame or other? Cheers!"

  4. Thanks very much Sal! Funny you included a song by the Dirty Dozen Brass Band - my favorite by them - because last night my teenage son went with friends to see Rebirth Brass Band. My son and his friends are in Marching Band, so I think that's part of the appeal - they can "see themselves" in an ensemble like that.
