If You Let A Man Kick You Once- Corey Harris & Henry Butler
This holiday weekend brought out a lot of bad people. I found out the hard way through social media, that I know a few too many of them. But the good news is, I know a hell of a lot more amazing people than I do shitty people, and for that I am grateful. The losers can take a hike.
It was unintentional, but I love how those last three songs come together.
Your mix is HERE. Turn it up!

Lots to be grateful for over this weekend despite the current climate. And of them is the new Haircut 100 album that you previewed. I love it and never thought I'd say that 2026!
A very enjoyable mix this week with a few new-to-me artists in Tages and Sam Dee’s. It’s sometimes hard to ignore the haters, but it’s the best approach.
The annual jazz festival started on Friday and it kicked it off for me with the first off 8 gigs I will see over the next week or so. Jobarteh-Pasborg-Blicher are an unusual trio of kora, tenor sax, and drums. The kora is often run through pedals and amplified. You can get an idea from their first gig (which I also caught) here https://youtu.be/aaKrmYwaOkk?si=SoQplsCnh58nQAMA. Hopefully they will release an album.

FYI, today’s song of the day link isn’t working as desired.

Thanks. It's been corrected.
Hi Sal-Just looking at your comments about all the haters....I too had it here where I live-a mental case of an owner moved into where I reside in the last 8-9 days multiple police visits and crisis intervention visits for all of this insane behavior in such a short amount of time. Try to look past it all I leave it up to the law to handle....along with some large community fines to help in the process as well.
On a music note I am looking forward to hearing the Mike Viola tracks you posted in a recent mix collection. And hey-Ben Folds doing 'Barrytown"?? Gotta hear that....If you search around on You Tube there is a live cover of Joe Jackson doing "Any Major Dude"....Which is great by the way......It made me wonder why he has never done a covers album of his own he has done some great unexpected covers over the years-David B's "Scary Monsters" comes to mind...... Keep your chin up man.....And do your best to ignore all the ignorant
bad stuff....Time and energy better spent on all the music and drumming!!!
Just use the Unfriendly button. They're not really friends.
Song of the Day working good…and sounding Great! Thank You!
