She really made an impact far beyond music. Living in Nashville, after my daughter was born in 2005, a year later we received a children's book from Dolly Parton. For all 3 of my kids, they got a book a year from her until they were 5. I hadn't signed up for anything, it was just done for every child in Tennessee. Pretty amazing life.
