I saw The Beach Boys at the Asbury Park Convention circa June or July 1965(!) and Campbell was standing in for Brian. One of the most awesome shows I ever witnessed.
Hearken back to the days of yesterweek...my comment on February 6, to be exact; I named some of my 'perfect songs' off the top of my head, and Campbell's 'Wichita Lineman' was one of 'em. Nuff said. C in California
Love this so much....I saw Pat Metheny recently, and he did a beautiful acoustic cover of Wichita Lineman as his final encore. Love Glen Campbell, love Jimmy Webb. Not too long ago, I was obsessing over 'The Worst that Could Happen'....
Lovely

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad we were able to finally see him on his final tour - still magnificent!
