This record was a grail for me. Willie is a New Orleans legend. Wild Magnolias, “Teasin’ You,” etc. This album is produced by David Axelrod, genius. Wrecking Crew band. Big drums from Earl Palmer. Originals fetch $400. Finally reissued last year. It’s all good. Big and dramatic!
The only Willie Tee I have is his other horn-fortified 'walking' song, 'Walking Up A One-Way Street', which has such a feel-good sound to counter its downer lyrics. This was pretty dang good, too! C in California
That should have been a hit!
ReplyDeleteGreat tune, Sal
ReplyDeleteWow! I hear a rabbit hole.

My purple copy is on the way. David Axelrod was the clincher.
