"Rain" : THE WEEKEND MIX FROM THE ARCHIVES

This has been one crazy-ass week. Details are not necessary, but I will admit to being more than a bit preoccupied, for better or worse. That being said, here is a Weekend Mix from the archives that seems appropriate, especially for East Coasters. Maybe you missed it first time around.

Enjoy, I hope.

Hello all...no, please remain seated,

Very soggy, yet cool, mix; makes me feel elation about precipitation.

Love the "list more titles in the Comments section" game. Sooo....Ann Peebles "I Can't Stand the Rain".

...and here's one that's a bit obscure. Totally sublime performance by Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass from 1976 on a song called...(wait for it)...Rain:

I know that Ella was past her prime by this point in her life but, damn, what an artist.

Thanks again, Sal

Sal -- you've been reading my mail (or at least looking at my pile of rain-sodden laundry!).

Thanks!

Rainy Days and Mondays, is it? (No, it's Friday - Ed). Boy, when it rains, it rains - and not just cats and dogs, but hippos and rhinos and other mammals of similar size. It's raining all over the world. Thanks for the revisited mix. Keep your powder dry!

Nice collection, Sal. I'll add it to the long-standing set of "Oregon Winter" tunes that we play each year, for months at a time. Thank you very much.

Sal: Here I go again commenting but for some reason you never approve them. Anyway your putting "Rain on the roof" by the Lovin Spoonful brings forth a comment. I listened to this album about a week ago and mentally noted that it was released in '65 I think . Imagine Paul McCartney performing "Rain on the roof" and "Four Eyes" if it were on The who Sell Out" . Yea I know you won't approve this one either.
