Black Muddy River

Got this one in just in time.

My favorite Jerry Garcia tune, performed live, ten years ago today at Red Rocks, by Bruce Hornsby, Shawn Colvin, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, and David Lindley.

It took many years for me to appreciate the Grateful Dead.

It took all of 2 minutes to realize the beauty of this tune.

Love the pic! I saw that tour at Garden State Arts Center -- who opened with the roots acoustic set?!?

It is a great, great song. Got overplayed and dirge - like in the encore slot at many shows. But I sure would kill to hear a live one tonight . . .
" . . .last rose of summer" indeed!

Thanks for the reminder of how much I do like that song . . . now get back to Abbey Road!
