Mattie Via Hattie

"Three hours before my plane leaves, that nice Mr. Doucet invites me to stand in a room with other guests somewhere in the suburbs of New Orleans. The door is closed. By a miracle, many songs are performed--everyone's playing at the once--it's like the old days! Yet strange to tell--Cajuns singing "Wooly Bully?" Toes will tap, critics will wink conspiratorially, old men in Bermuda shorts will swear F.P. Sylvester's Playboys did it all in 1911.

Vive le rock & roll Cajun!!

Richard Thompson

Produced by Sonny Landreth, here is Michael Doucet & Cajun Brew from their eponymously titled, 1987 LP, performing the aforementioned "Wooly Bully," as well as a rousing take on RT's "Woman Or A Man," with Thompson providing some of his usually mind-blowing guitar playing.

I am ashamed for not playing this record at least once a day.

Heat must be affecting comment board--- How about something on the james moody show where james moody didn't show last night---though he is very sick---bad concert promoting.

Funny, I was wondering the same thing. I mean, no one likes Cajun "Wooly Bully?"
