Great find, Sal. Thanks for posting.

I was listening to 'Froggy's Favorites' the other day, and the last song is Ue O Muite Arukou. At the beginning of the song, Terry says something like "I'd just like to say right now that of all the musicians I've played with, that Tommy Ardolino...is a fine & decent boy". That intro has always made me smile.

RIP Tommy.

Thanks for this Sal. Very sweet. Like Tommy himself.
Lately I've been pulling out my NRBQ discs for another spin. What an amazing drummer...

For an excellent tribute to Ardolino's musicianship check out this post from Robbie Fulks, who turns out to be one of the most articulate musicians around:

I still remember the first time I saw Tom playing drums. I thought the sticks would fly out from his hands!
Those snaps!
His whole body was making Q's beats.

Thanks for this best line-up of NRBQ.

Thanks, Sal -

Terry and the new group haven't played here in Boston yet, but I did go see the Brothers Spampinato at a new neighborhood joint last week. 2 great sets, and some really nice rhythm guitar from fill-in Mike Gent (ex-Figgs.)But not a WORD about Tommy, which we all felt was kind of strange. (He had strong ties to the area, and lots of people here loved him.)But not a peep from Joey or Johnny. -bill buckner
