thanks. And thanks to you, I've been stuck on Sunflower and Surf's Up for the past three days. Mojo rated the BBs top 50s songs, and "Surf's Up" was No. 1. I'm not sure I agree but it's terrific and there's so much great stuff on those two albums. Highly recommended.

I'm also going to sneak in another recommendation for anyone. Band called "Didn't Planet" has a concept album out about the travails of a cover band. Enjoying that as well (when the waves subside).

Thanks Sal, either the first or second 45 I ever bought was the Canadian Capitol version of "Do You Wanna Dance" with this gem on the flipside.

I started surfing in southern CA in 1969. I thought Jimi Hendrix was right. The Beach Boys went out with long boards. "Surf's Up" was my entry into The Beach Boys. Someone's older brother had the album. I dug Feel Flows", "Take Good Care Of Your Feet", "Don't Go Near The Water", and "Student Demonstration Time" more than "Fun, Fun,Fun".

Great song from a great early BB album. Bombshelter Slim must be tuned into the good stuff, and really must rate to get a rare Sunday post just for him. Alrighty then!

Kiss Me Baby ... often overlooked classic. If you can get your hands on the o.o.p. HAWTHORNE, CA two-disc set, there's an a cappela version that is stunning. (And allows us to hear that the backup vocals on the chorus are "Kiss a little bit, fight a little bit"!)

JAG,

Just listened to that Hawthorne version.

HOLY CRAP!

Thanks for that.

My pleasure, Sal. A nice complement to the Lei'd In Hawaii rehearsals is the 1993 Valley Forge unplugged show. If I dig it up again, I'll let you know.

Let me add my thanks to JAG, I'd forgotten all about the vocal only mix!!
