Sal, Sorry for leaving this here and not in that box-thingy in the side-bar (don't know if there's enough space.) Any idea why the Lovin' Spoonful and Left Banke, for example, have never been reissued in mono? Any thoughts? I've also searched for Len Barry's 1-2-3 and '60s Brenda Lee (is that derisive laughter I hear?) - also without any luck.
Why would I laugh at Brenda Lee when she is my Song Of The Day?
Here's what I (think I) know about The Left Banke?
The mono masters of the first album are long gone. Even early pressings of "Walk Away Renee/Pretty Ballerina" which say "monaural" on the labels and covers, play in stereo. Actual mono copies are very scarce.
Sal, thanks for the info and especially for posting the song of the day. I'd never heard her version of What'd I Say and immediately ran out to grab Bear Family's Brenda Lee Rocks!
If you can't get The Who to play Sunrise live, put it in a weekend mix - that works for me too. I'm going to see 'em in Atlanta in a few months and I'm sure this is the closest I'll get to to them playing live a cut as rare as this...

I have no answer about the Spoonful.

"Somewhere Before" - my first exposure to Keith Jarrett.

Had to get Ian Hunter. At least. Thanks!
The incomparable Sandy Denny on Zep's Battle of Evermore does it for me every time. Choice mix as always. Cheers!
