They Forgot Elaine Stritch

First, let me start off by saying, "Hahahahahhahahaaaa."

Okay. Sorry.

How the hell did this "Cannonball Run 2" of music tribute albums get green-lighted? Yes, even with the participation of many artists I once respected, I cannot approve of King Crimson's violinist covering "Squeeze Box?" Or how about Track 11? What demented A&R guy thought up that concoction? Did he just ask "Who needs $40? What about Sweet? I think the only original member in that band is the caterer.

That said, I'll probably buy this.

Looks like they took the roster from a Ringo's All-Stars show, a K-Tel "Punk & New Wave" l.p., and this summer's county fair circuit, and drew names, blindly.

Wouldn't it have been more appropriate for Squeeze Box to have invited the David Cross from Arrested Development than the one from King Crimson?

Oh yeah, I'll be buying it, too.

if I knew how to type speechless so there was nothing there and i could convey the comment I would.
At least it's not another Who greatest hits with one leftover snippet of outtake shit ?????

Hello all...no, please remain seated.

Sal, I know that I have little, if any, credibility about music, having confessed on another music blog that I actually like the recent pop hits Call Me Maybe and Bubbly...

...but I can't just stand by and read that you'll probably buy this. No, sometimes a man just has to be a stand-up guy and stand up and, well, take a stand.

Sal. Mon frere. Amigo. You have a problem! In all addictions, the addict must reach a bottom, a degradation if you will, before he or she seeks help. Don't let this record be your bottom. The re-telling of the story will cause shame, hurt and undue suffering. Oh, the humanity!!!

There, there now...let it all out. It's ok...I'm here for you.

regards,
RichD

I can only imagine the chemistry between Peter Noone and Ginger Baker.

Wow, how could this be? It's so surreal. This weird array of artists put together like this. Although, I must admit, it's worth a look see.

I'd kinda like to hear Knox, Dave Davies, and Rat Scabies tackle
"My Generation".

Speechless can be expressed like this:

" "

or maybe this is better:

"!!!???"

I believe the title refers to the cast of singers. (Who the fuck are you?) PS Did you see the episode of Louie where he sings along to almost the entire song of "Who Are You" on a road trip with his kids?

9. I Can’t Explain – Iggy Pop

As a old-timey 45, "A" & "B" side... maybe.

No, see? This is how it starts. One person wonders aloud, then another...then someone says "really, how bad could it be?" Then we're all out downloading this from iTunes. Followed 2 days later by the email from Apple telling us how much they're billing Visa for yet another impulse buy!!! I've had quite enough of those, thank you very much.

Courage, all!

I wonder if the artists on each song were actually in the studio together, if if they recorded their parts separately.

Riffing on David's comment, another alternate title could be "Why Are You?!"....but I will purchase this..why?...just gotta hear David Cross tear a new asshole into Squeeze Box....(not)......one more thing...no Kid Rock?...how did that fright-wig wearng chimpanzee miss the cut?...he's more prevalent than ragweed...maybe he's deceased...let me check Yahoo News(oh joy!!)....

Hell...I had no intention of downloading that dog. Waste of HD space IMHO.

YMMV, however.
