Not The Worst Stones Cover Ever

I'm sorry, but I love what Bowie did to this song. I don't find it blasphemous. Hop on over to Burning Love? to read more about Bowie and this cover, courtesy of me and my pal Steve Simels.

Alladin Sane is one of my all-time favorite albums. This isn't my favorite Stones song, anyway, so I think Bowie's cover is an improvement in every way.

It may not technically be a Stones cover, but I should add that Bowie's version of "Around and Around," which was a B-side of one of his early 70s hits, (possibly only in the UK -- I don't remember) is definitely the lamest Chuck Berry cover evah.

B-Side of "Drive In Saturday," I believe, though it ended up as a bonus track on one of the many Ziggy CD reissues. Loved that one, too, BTW.

Me too, Kicks ass. I'm a Mick Ronson fan.

Jeebus -- I just listened to that for the first time in eons.

It evinces not the slightest chinchilla of lust.

Ghastly.

Even worse.

Doesn't swing, the vocal is at best faceless. And Mick Ronson, god bless him, isn't Jeff Beck.
