For those who might have been anticipating a playlist of post-eighties Paul McCartney, let me say to you, I did indeed consider it. As a matter of fact, I compiled it and uploaded it, but I just couldn't pull the trigger.
I spent this week immersed in Macca's new one. I still like it. I love some of it. I also revisited "Flaming Pie" and "Chaos & Creation In The Backyard." I find both of those records to be as good as anything Paul has done since Yoko broke up The Beatles. (Just kidding, Yoko.)
But at the risk of causing an international incident, I chose to not be so relentless in my plan to make the world embrace the wonders of Paul McCartney's solo work of the last 20 years. Instead, I offer some rock and roll music that came before those lovable mop-tops from Liverpool.

I'm not sure I would have downloaded the Macca comp, but I can't resist this early Rock N Roll. It always sounds fresh.
Now this stretches my musical knowledge a tad further - but I like the elasticity of it, so stretch away! Very cool stuff which I'm gonna play the heck out of, many thanks. Btw did you catch the broadcast of Macca's live set at the BBC Radio 2 studios on the 16th? Some of the new "New" stuff as well as the oldies but goldies.

Love the weekend mixes you do. But I am also a Macca fanboy(man) and would love to have seen what your Macca mix would have been like, cause based on your regular postings there would have been several great surprises in your choices/mix. So, go ahead and pull the trigger, as a 'bonus' for the McCartney fans thst share your appreciation for his music. But the mix you posted for the weekend is inspirational early rock n roll...awesome.

Thanks for these. Any chance to pick up a 5 Royales song I didn't have is welcome. As for "So Much In Love," it's one of those songs I'd forgotten about & couldn't identify by title and artist, so when I played it I had one of those delightful "oh yeah, this!" moments.

One of many regrets in life is that -- in the name of cool, or lazy or superior or ... -- I chose not to listen to various branches of music. Late Paul McCartney is a case in point.
I'm trying to be (more) open minded these days and really appreciate any and every thing you do to get me off my lawn!
