He was my first hero. Looking back, his life was pretty sad. He tried to avoid being "Elvis Beatle", but ended up there anyway. Isolated, and mostly out of touch with his art.
Hopefully at peace now.

I think his life- the sadness along the way- added to the depth of his art. I don't agree that he was out of touch with it, but to each his own. His life was filled with wonderful music, great love and great loss, and yes because of the way he died he ended up becoming some sort of Elvis, ironic since that is who he always wanted to be. He had second chances- with Yoko (yes Yoko) and with Sean, and at the end had a new friend in Julian and it was so sad because of the new maturity in him as a person, and because he was sort of "Starting Over".

Thanks for the music John. Sal, you couldn't have picked a better song.

Sal I must say you picked a gem!! Say what you will re John's unfulfilled life , the tragedy etc, but really it just doesn't get any better than the Fab Four ! You can take all the tea in China,as one of our Irish poets said long ago, and it just doesn't!!! No band will ever equal those guys together! As they say, thanks for the memories!
