Verdict?- #6

The tour is underway. I still don't get it.

Hello all...no, please remain seated,

Does not compute. If Jeff Beck wanted to do a Beach Boys song, why didn't he just add In My Room a la Danny Gatton to his setlist?

If the Beach Boys wanted to expand their arrangements, well...that's why we have Bruce Hornsby, right?

Troubling. Requires further contemplation.

When I was growing up, if someone smelled something bad they would put their thumb on their forehead and yell "surf's up!"

I'm not sure what that was. The Beach Boys Mike Love fired joined Jeff Beck's group as back-up singers?
I admire Jeff's playing, but often not the music he chooses. His control of the whammy and knobs is truly out there, but I'm pretty sure I heard a couple clams toward the end.
It looked more like people waiting for a bus than a band onstage.

Yeah I did too. Strange for Beck. He really looks like he's not sure where he is or why.

Pretty unimaginative... just playing the melody line straight through. Does nothing for me.
And Jeff... it's time to put on a shirt.

And maybe get wig with a little bit of grey in it.

I like it. The missed notes were there, but "melody line straight through"(?) - I think there was more than that. But that's the game - who likes what and why. His appearance? I got some grey myself and probably endear myself to others by wearing a shirt more often than not, so who am I to judge? Now if we could digress on the violin player, her I could dream about . . .

I didn't hear about this. I would've thought it was a joke. I don't get it either. And Beck hits some bum notes at the end. Is the whole set Beck playing the melodies on his guitar?

Does Brian Wilson sing Spanish Boots in the set?

I dunno, it seems pointless. I'm surprised by the people talking during the vocal harmonizing, it's incredibly rude.

C'mon, it's obvious -- he was just looking for some good vibrations!

Brian looks miserable.

I attended the Boston show last night. Not sold out. Two distinct groups of followers. There were some good individual moment and a few sparks during the combined sets, but still an odd pairing. I'll be interested to see what comes of the recording sessions. Cheers
