Got to love the David Werner, although that song and "What's Right" are all I got going on my iPod. I found two of his albums on a blog a few years ago, including that one with those two songs (think the cover was a hip lapel featuring a pin with his picture), and those two songs seemed to tower above all the rest. Good mix to be made with stuff like that, Herman Brood, Iron City Houesrockers, etc. Forgotten turn of the 80s!
Just went into the garage, rifled through boxes (it only took 4) and found both Iron City Houserockers LPs because I can't recall a note from either. Surprised and happy to see Mick Ronson as a producer.
Looking forward to playing this mix, although whenever I see Bjork in a playlist it makes me baulk (get over it - ed). XTC's clever title is the sort of wordplay I like & any mix that kicks off with Sinatra & has the Boss, Elvis & the Zombies in there, is always gonna make my day. Many thanks for putting it out there for us. Hope your weekend's a good 'un.
I get to look at these Friday morning at work, or thereabouts. And then I want to go home. Which ususally also happens on Monday through Thursday, but I have no mix to go home to.Eclectic set list.:o)
Always enjoy the mixes, but ESPECIALLY enjoying this one. Thanks, Sal.Bruce H
Love the Houserockers. I have the first four. They were the house band at the Decade Club back in the day. Joe Grushecky's solo stuff is worth checking out also. "Radio Ears" was a great mid eighties single and the American Babylon album he made with Da Boss is also worth more than a listen.
Thanks SalThe Geriant Watkins - Heroes and Villians is an interesting adaptaion. Great shareRegardsRhod
You think this sounds good altogether? WRONG!....It sounds GREAT altogether! Cheers, Sal.
