There's a great story of how John Coltrane was late for a gig with the "classic" Quartet, so Cos got up on stage with McCoy, Jimmy & Elvin & proceeded to do his Trane impersonation (sans saxophone). Suddenly the sound of a real tenor sax came wafting out from the dressing room & and Trane walked to the stand & proceeded to duet with Cosby...

I think that Cosby, all by himself, changed the way a generation told a story. I can't think of anyone that doesn't use a voice, gesture, sound effect or elaboration in telling a joke or a tale. I've seen that before and still laugh now.

For you, my dear friend, THIS is the best thing you will see all day. http://youtu.be/L3-1ZFPSaro?t=1m31s

Thank you, Sal! I don't usually laugh this much at 8:00am on a Friday.
