The last two days here in N.Y.C. have been glorious. The weather inspired this mix. I don't drive, but if I did, I would blast this with the top down as I headed somewhere else.
It shifts gears, but to my ears, it sounds good all together.
Sorry for the delay. The irony here? The misery of the last 12 hours. But that's another mix.

A sad note amid this happy mix: Jesse Winchester died today. A wonderful songwriter who wrote "poetically" without coming across as a self-important "poet."
His first album is still one of the all-time greats by a singer-songwriter.
Before I saw the note from Ken I was going to comment that Sham-A-Ling-Dong-Ding has a special and painful (for personal reasons) place in my heart -- so beautiful ... so heartbreaking. But we know what Frank Zappa said about broken hearts.
Now that I hear the news of Jesse's death I'm really sad. That first record is great and Gentleman of Leisure is another fav.
All that notwithstanding ... a great mix Sal. Thanks!
Wow, Dee-Lite on this mix. I thought I was the only one who still threw that in my playlist every now and then.
Nice to see Jesse Winchester on here - I was actually in Memphis this week when he passed.
I'm also tempted to drive with the top down listening to this mix, only I'd need a can opener first as I don't have a convertible. Some choice cuts (The Spoonful, Mr Cope & Ducks Deluxe yet!) nicely assembled. Many thanks.
