Commando, To Kill A Mockingbird, Ulysses...

Dee Dee was out of it the whole time that movie was being made. He originally had three lines of dialogue, but they cut it down to one because he couldn't remember them all. "Oh boy, pizza." He got that one out after about forty takes.

That is one of about 300 brilliant paragraphs in Johnny Ramone's memoir. Guy was a genius.

That is all.

I once commented that Dee Dee Ramone in RNR High School looked like a dog who was gazing at a piece of meat the director was waving off camera.

Being in The Ramones must have been a nightmare after the first year or two. They didn't get along, which must have made the close quarters and long hours driving to shows seem endless. Johnny was a hard ass, but I came away from that book with a begrudging respect for a guy who clearly stated what he believed in and held his ground.

i thought this was a GREAT book.....yeah, ya gotta see it Johnny's way, but he had the discipline, after some juvie problems, but he had a job to do, and hi sown goals, and he stuck it out the whole time....i thought it was cool when they had others join the band, he'd help them be a little more responsible with their money...imagine that, the Ramones and Responsibility in the same sentence!!!!!

I can buy one book. In my left hand is the Cheetah Chrome one. In my right is the Johnny Ramone.

Which one goes back? Which one comes to counter with me?

I'm awaiting the votes.

Not sure about either book but The End of the Century doc is a must. Here are outtakes with Dee Dee and Joe Strummer

I think that paragraph might also be in "Please Kill Me" as well.
