Pure Bolton

Remember Tim Christensen? He's the great Dane I wrote about here.

He, along with Mike Viola, Tracy Bonham and his band The Damn Crystals, wowed all of us with his performance of Paul McCartney's "Ram," so much so that many readers included that live recording on their year-end "best" lists. If this isn't ringing a bell, check out the video up top.

And below, check out Tim with just his guitar, making none other than Michael Bolton listenable.

I'm generally not a fan of the ironic acoustic cover, but something about this....actually...everything about this kills me. Possibly because, it doesn't feel so ironic.

My daughter knows who Macca and the Beatles are, and knows the music, but prefers the energy of "Pure McCartney" And man that drummer is the shit.

Unfortunately, this one hits home. Mourning the loss of a friend today.
Musically, it is typical Tim Christensen - top notch. I found out about his stuff through this site and can't wait to hear more of his stuff. Ditto for Mike Viola.

Yeah, no irony in this performance.

I may have to listen to these every single day until I can't stand them anymore, but knowing me, when I love something, I love it forever.

Tim Christensen is just phenomenal and I can't thank you enough for turning me on to him via "Pure McCartney".
