Always loved Band on the Run/Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five. Closing song may never be recognized as a McCartney classic, but it's always been one of my favorites.

That whole album was him getting it exactly right post-Beatles (with Ram a sloppy second).

Honorable mention goes to:
Zep 4; Black Dog and When the Levee Breaks
The Clash; London Calling
Blizzard of Oz; I Don't Know and Steal Away

Highway Star : Space Truckin' on Deep Purple's 1972 Machine Head [original version]. In fact I'm going to play it now before I'm banished to the doghouse again for listening to loud music during the holidays. Cheers!

My first thought was "I Will Dare/Answering Machine" (or maybe "You Told Me/Randy Scouse Git", but I can see Born To Run beating those...

"Wouldn't It Be Nice" and "Caroline No" in a walk. You can't understand WIBN without hearing the heartbreak of "
Caroline No."
