I'm not feeling very inspired today, not for most of the week actually, so apologies for the less than stellar postings and for the missing Weekend Mix.

Going try to fill up the tank for next week. Until then, here IS something stellar.

Tips o' the hat to both hpunch and drstub for beating me to my DVR.

No problem, sir. I think we all need the extra time to get through the Gordon Lightfoot box set...

Boy, that sure is one of my favorite Nick Lowe songs--very nice intermingling of book songs as we await the arrival of Elvis' own book this fall.

Uninspired? Man -- you're reading my mail!

At least now I'm sitting here listening to old Elvis Costello. That clip from Letterman is wonderful.

Take your vitamins Sal and have a wonderful weekend.

Here's the other pieces of the puzzle...
The complete (?) Elvis Costello on Letterman.

I thought the arrangement was really good and it was a great song for him to do but Elvis was so flat that it made the background singers sound off as well and it kind of ruined it for me.

Nice! That was cool. Just shows it doesn't take much to sound great. One guitar, four voices.

That clip reminds me of one of my favorite music clips ever... I've probably shared it here before, but if not, or even if so, please check this out. It's Neko Case doing "Don't Forget Me" on Elvis' old "Spectacle" show... (in fact, now I'm wondering if I first saw this on BW.........)
