Sal Maida, bass player extraordinaire, band mate and pal o'mine, has just released a new book that is part Little Italy memoir and part rock and roll diary. "Four Strings, Phony Proof and 300 45s" is a fab read and is available now at Hozac Books. Maida is a great story teller and he shares plenty, with a great cast of characters that include Mick Jagger, Tom Waits, David Bowie, Roxy Music, Sparks, and of course, Vinny Head. Plus, he offers up 300 of his absolutely essential 45s. And it is just ONE per artist! YOU try choosing just one Beatles 45 and just ONE Stones 45!
If that isn't already a blast, tomorrow, John Dunbar, Sal Maida and yours truly, collectively known as The John Sally Ride, will be on the radio! It is a 2 hour interview with rock journalist Ira Robbins, where we discuss our new record, "A New Set Of Downs," the band and the music, and Sal Maida, of course, will be sharing stories from the book. There will be plenty of music, both from The John Sally Ride and Maida's bands. This will air as a special edition of Sal Maida's show Spin Cycle, tomorrow (Monday, 10/23) at 2PM on Little Water Radio.
That's all the news for today!

any chance you could post a video of your band that could be watched in the UK?

300 45's. I hope he has a jukebox. It's fun to focus on his playing while listening to "A New Set Of Downs".
