"Wendy? I'm Home."

There were 100,000 people walking around the New Orleans Fairgrounds for three days straight and not so much as a toe was stepped on. Minutes after landing back home at JFK, and seconds after the seat belt sign turned off, the woman behind me gave me a Gordie Howe check to the ribs, as she retrieved her bag stowed in the overhead a row in front of me. Good to be home. My hunch and twitch are back in full swing and I expect to be telling everyone to go fuck themselves shortly.

That being said, have a listen to the stunning new duet from two New Orleans legends, Walter "Wolfman" Washington and Irma Thomas, which can be found on the "Wolfman's" terrific new release, "My Future Is My Past."

Chill, Jack--go visit Lloyd!

What an amazing song! I so wish I could get down there. Hearing this live must be a religious experience.

Thanks for making me feel at home, Randy! :)

Christine,
I am sure it would have been. Missed it by two days.

After googling to see who Gordie Howe was, I get your drift about the elbow in the ribs! I recall seeing ice hockey on UK TV donkeys years ago when I mistook it for some wrestling or boxing fight on ice as the main intention appeared to be extreme violence involving as many players as possible, body-checking and fisticuffs in general. Vivé le sport! Anyway, always loved (make that, lurved) Irma Thomas & the song you've posted is a sweet one. Cheers!

Welcome home Sal.

Just played this song on my desktop at work and was asked by a co-worker to turn the volume down. Perhaps I should perform a Gordie Howe move on her....

Did you happen to catch the Haitian act Kod Kreyol and the Creole Dance Ensemble of Haiti who performed 4 times, 3 on the Culture stage and once on Jazz and Heitage stage?
Sturgill and Byrne were both wonderful

I first heard of Walter with the "Sada" album and have been a fan ever since.

Thank you Sal for the tips on the Big Easy.

Keep the tips coming, Sal!

I had no idea this even existed. It've seen the Wolfman a bunch of times at the Maple Leaf. I think he used to be there every tuesday? Something like that.

Anyway. This is great. How did I miss this??
