TPOH-Deluxe

From Canada, please enjoy The Pursuit Of Happiness and a few songs from their stellar debut, "Love Junk," released in 1989 and produced by Todd Rundgren.

Just released and hand delivered to me by a nice man in a DHL uniform, is a killer deluxe edition, featuring remastered sound and a dozen or so extra tracks, including unreleased material from the Rundgren sessions, demos and live tracks, all in a lovely trifold jacket with lots of photos and liner notes. It is indeed, one of the best deluxe editions I have seen in some time.

"Love Junk" was one of its kind in 1989, at least to my ears. Leader Moe Berg, wrote songs that cut to the chase, with killer riffs and driving rhythms that were just as much hard rock as they were pop gems. The unique combination of Berg's talk-singing, backed by the angelic harmonies of Kris Abbott and Leslie Stanwick, all supervised and pieced together by Mr. Rundgren, made for a very unique collection of songs, each with its own personality and all overflowing with hooks.

The "deluxe edition" is available on both CD and LP, if you're interested.

Since my recent birthday, I can really relate to this record 'cause I'm an adult now. Thanks, Sal.

Used to drive playing and rewinding and playing "When the Sky Comes Falling Down" over and over in the cassette deck. Still gives me goosebumps. Thanks for the reminder and the gift.

I had always thought TPOH was a one-shot semi-novelty act when I had only heard "I'm An Adult Now" so that was about it for me

But "She's So Young" was included on Rhino's Poptopia CD -- and that's a brilliant song.

I then realized what I was missing about the band. The debut album *is* great. "The Wonderful World of..." is probably my next favorite.
