This and the Human Beinz "Nobody but Me" are what I crank in the car when they come on the radio. The University of Houston pep band plays "The Horse" during every sports game timeout.
Great. This tune always reminds me of Hugh Masakela's Grazing in the Grass which I think came out that same year. (And vice versa) Instrumentals on the charts, what a concept.
The only problem I have with "The Horse" -- and it's very minor -- is that I've always thought it sounds like there should be a vocal melody to it that's missing. There's a lot of dead space in the "verses" before the horns kick in on the "chorus". Great horn track, though.
I can see why the dance never caught on, though. LOL

It worked. I do feel good. Thanks, Sal. Posting that is a public service...

Well, I learned something. Here's the version with the vocal:

Yep, the vocal is on the flip side of the 45.
I loved that! Thanks Sal, made my day.
Sorry, Brian, but there's only one Boss With The Hot Sauce, and that's The Geator With The Heater, Jerry Blavat, My Man Pots And Pans!
