Listen To Quivers

I love this new record from Melbourne's Quivers!

The album is called "Golden Doubt" and every song is a lovely piece of melodious pop, filled with wonderful harmonies. It's like Australian legend Paul Kelly backed by The New Pornographers.

I want to thank my pal Don over at IDHAS for the tip.

This band had me with their first single, ‘You’re Not Always On My Mind’, which is included on the new album. The album is wonderful and addictive. Earlier this year the band released a cover of R.E.M.’s album ‘Out of Time’ which I also really enjoyed. Thanks for sharing their goodness with the world!

Yes, this will be on my best of 2021 list. I’ve been enjoying it over the last few weeks. There’s more variety and more joy in the songs than the new Crowded House, though I like that one, too.

I dig it. I'm wondering if the lead guy is related to Shane Nicholson.

If you dig this then you should check out the collected works of singer-songwriter Charles Jenkins, also of Melbourne, starting in the 90s with the group Ice Cream Hands and continuing through his extraordinary solo work. A good starting point might be the album by him called "Walk This Ocean."
