Getaway- Dr. John
Still got New Orleans on my mind, so I decided to spin this late career masterpiece from Dr. John. Dan Auerbach really got it right on "Locked Down." It might just be my favorite by The Night Tripper. (At least for today.)

Who Are The Mystery Girls?- New York Dolls
Picked up a copy of "Too Much Too Soon" at last week's record show in Asbury Park. It might be sacrilege, but I think it's a better album than the "New York Dolls."

When The Sky Comes Falling Down- The Pursuit Of Happiness
Moe Berg plus Todd Rundgren equals one of the best power pop records of all time.

You Don't Love Me, Baby- Junior Wells' Chicago Blues Band w/Buddy Guy
"What's your favorite blues album?" "Hoodoo Man Blues, no question."

Love For Granted- Phoenix
Forgot all about this band and this song until I saw in either Mojo or Uncut that they were touring. I can't say I loved anything Phoenix did before or after the album "Alphabetical," but I really do love this album and this song, which is simply gorgeous.

Big Wheel- Saun & Starr
You may or may not know them as the backing singers for Sharon Jones, here are Saun & Starr and the best song from their only album "Look Closer." This one should put you in a good mood.

House Burning Down- Jimi Hendrix Experience
In an interview with People Magazine back in the 70s, Freddie Mercury was asked what his favorite song was. He replied, "House Burning Down" by Jimi Hendrix. (I just read that in this fab new book on Queen, "Magnifico: The A To Z of Queen," which I highly recommend if you are a fan of the band.)

Love the band Phoenix... and wow, what an odd choice for overall favorite song by Freddie, out of the millions of songs out there. But, cool!
