The Rubs are Joey Rubbish from Chicago, and like Todd Rundgren, Emitt Rhodes and power pop legend Tom Marolda from New Jersey who did business as The Toms, Rubbish is a one man band and "Dust," released in July on Hozac, serves up hook after hook.
The songs and arrangements are crunchy, and at times a bit ragged, like just maybe "Dust" started out as a punk record. But the melodies are there, all the time.
This is a good one and you could hear more over on Bandcamp or wherever you do your listening,

I'm hearing Lizzy in 'Hang On To Me'. Not a complaint!

Absolutely!
Yep, a Lizzy vibe in the first track and a bit of Foo Fighters in the 2nd. Worthy influences. Will give the Rubs a go on the streaming.

I thought I'd be so smart and head here to make a "Thin Lizzy vibe" comments and damned if the three of you were already there!
Great tip -- thanks Sal.
