I ordered a record last week which arrived yesterday with two additional records in the box. Both were by a band called Luxury Mane, featuring songs written, sung and played by Billy Summer, the same name in the return address on the box. (That's one way of getting your music out there!)
A quick search on Discogs told me Luxury Mane is based in St. Petersburg, Florida and they have at least 5 studio records under their belt. I decided to listen to "Lux Runnin' Out," one of the two, since Mr. Summer was kind enough to share his band's music.
This is terrific stuff, somewhere between a slightly more aggressive Belle & Sebastian and a slightly toned down Soft Boys. You might hear something completely different because I did when I checked out a bit of their 2018 release, "Domestic Bliss."
I love getting records in the mail!
I look forward to spinning "Gold Standard," the second of the two sent to me and I just purchased "Domestic Bliss."
All are available on Bandcamp.
Luxury Mane was a very nice surprise to close out 2022. I hope you dig them as much as I do.
Thanks Billy!

Those tracks are fun. Now will have to check out their bandcamp page. Thanks for the tip.
Love that Mavis Staples and the Buckwheat Zydeco, too. Another worthy cover of a Some Girls track is this one from Ann Peebles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEcZ4DLxJQA

Oooo, I like it a lot! Despite having a band name that leads one in different directions on google, it was worth it. I'll take a stroll through their material and pick up a record.
So, I'm listening to the second offering on your post while reading elsewhere on my laptop and I'm struck by the similarity in parts to the Church's 'Under The Milky Way'....then I return to your post to see what the song is called. Cute.
