From 1969, the roots of The Staple Singers 1972 hit "I'll Take You There."
Bed & Breakfast Man- Madness
There was a Spanish pressing of the Madness collection "Complete" in a recent collection I picked up. All of the songs are in English, of course, but the cover did read "Completo." Esto es cama y desayuno hombre.
Arms Aloft- Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros
"Streetcore" might have been assembled after Joe's passing, but it still rivals anything by The Clash. This is a fave.
Looking At Her- Paul McCartney
Listened to "New" last week and it sounded better than ever.
You Know More Than I Know- John Cale
A friend sent me a terrific clip of Jeff Tweedy and his son Spencer covering this Cale track. Here is the original, as we are just two weeks away from the new John Cale album, "Mercy."
Cause We've Ended As Lovers- Jeff Beck
Well...shit.
Lights Out- Lisa Marie Presley
More sad news. I've loved this track from day one.

Looking forward to this - and thanks for including the Lisa Marie track.
Can't wait for the new Cale.
A SOTW zippy thingy tinged with sadness because of the loss of Jeff Beck and LMP, but good to hear their tracks (even if I'm unfamiliar with Lisa Marie's work). Special thanks for the Madness - the band I mean, not to accuse the blog of a general air of insanity. Cheers!
For the record, I've also loved the Lisa Marie track since Day 1. It kind of never left my playlist. "I still keep my watch 2 hours behind" gets me every time
