Very sad to see the passing of Wayne Shorter. A big fan. I have previously ranted in these pages that Weather Report belonged in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, given some of the other non-rock performers who made it in. I usually don't give two hoots about the HOF, but for kicks I looked at the list of inductees. Only Miles Davis is included, presumably for his jazz rock fusion groundbreaking work. No other jazz rock group or performer is inducted, as far as I could see. I guess one of the criteria is the three-minute song.
I have been devastated about Lindley. I'll never forget the first time I heard the first side of "For Everyman." Lindley, like the guys in the Section, taught me that there's no such thing as a "side man."
Great dump. The bingo is very funny (I drink oatmilk and have a podcast), the Paul McCartney joke deserves a spit take and the Catholic Church dig was good, says this Catholic. Mazel tov!
I'm two of those annoying things, which I suppose would make me mildly annoying, but the fact that I've allowed my dogs to be one of those things might make me really annoying.
David Lindley's death has put me into a funk. I made yearly pilgrimages to the Bottom Line to see him (with Hani Nasar or Wally Ingram). His stories and impressions between songs were always interesting if not hilarious. His music always puts me in a good mood. He was the linchpin of Jackson Browne's band for a long time and El Rayo-X remains one of my favorite groups. RIP Mr. Dave.

I was really enjoying another great dump until I scrolled to David Lindley, which I'd not heard about.
The others became not so important anymore.

Yes, feel similarly. His solo on These Days is still one of the most hauntingly beautiful I've ever heard.

Looks like Paul isn't the cute one now lmao! The sooner Fox goes under, the better. Good dump!
