Drivin N Cryin · …I think this is the best Black Crowes record … end of story About 10 o’clock last night as I was leaving my storage unit moving all of my records and noticed that my Happiness Bastards record was available on my iTunes … ! my drive started at Monroe and Ponce de Leon As I turned up Bedside Manners … a freaking perfect opening song … This gonna be a great ride home I turned it up and smiled as I passed the Hotel Clermont … Rats and Clowns rifling through my head as I see the Majestic Diner up on the right … a furious monster riff …. Like a long lost New York dolls track !! “If it ain’t killed me yet .. it never will !” Passing the plaza .. hands on the wheel .. In my left the north high ridge apartments .. home to all us drifters and grifter … a perfect background for Cross My Fingers It’s all the same buildings as it was when Mr Crowes lived next door .. I half expected to see Chris and Randy comin out of Buddys … Wanting and Wanting an instant classic for the fans of Shake Your Money Maker … if you told me it was an out take I’d believe you as I pass Little Five Points … the ghosts of Fellinnis employees dancing in the street … Nothing But Lonely Memories of singing in the streets … to passerby’s who have no idea … Don’t you know who I think I’m gonna be ?? Let’s go to wax and fax and see what’s on Danny’s new release rack … I’m passing Oakdale as Wilted Rose plays … driving through Candler Park and passing the home of the Turner family .. I share my blessings … what a perfectly beautiful heartache I feel… Heading up … up Dekalb Ave .. Marta Train flying by to intro to Dirty Cold Sun …!! I’ve been waiting so long !! I was taken from the pages Of your ??? midnight book In the mirror you are righteous But I never had to look I can’t to have this blaring in my headphones on the Marta on my way to hawks game!! Crossing the tracks as Bleed if escorts me through Kirkwood , old men still hang in front of the last barber shop , holding the gentrification at bay … I can feel the blues that still accompany these souls … riding the harmonica like a 1964 Plymouth Belvedere … Heading back through Decatur I’m getting close to home .. Flesh Wound has a such a great energy and little like fleshtones meet X … short and sweet with a fantastic psychedelic interlude aka Satanic Majesty’s and then back !!! Fuck !! I hope I blow my passenger side speaker !! Follow the moons holy rollers bad ass rock and rollers make my want to get up on those train tracks in the 2012 econoline and drive the rest of the way home pass the Steal Plants warehouse to Scottdale ..!!
