Pretty good tune. I love Richard so I pre ordered my vinyl copy weeks ago. Also seeing him at Town Hall in August. About a previous post on concerts and venues; specifically City Winery NYC. I've noticed most of the acts that would normally book CW are playing at Sony Hall. I don't know why; Sony Hall is a dive compared to CW (I just saw Al Di Meola at Sony Hall and loved the show but hated the venue). There is nothing at City Winery I want to see; and that's unusual. I wonder if they are asking for too much of a fee
Waiting for the album proper. Not listening to the singles. But the image of him in the screen grab has me amused. Plus, Linda T takes the piss with the cover of her new album. Quite amusing. Family and friends cover her songs and she calls it Proxy Music and redoes a Roxy Music album cover.
I've listened to the few teasers ... not sure what to make of Richard The Sea Captain. Needs more attention from me.
ReplyDeleteThat said ... I dig the Lonnie Smith Cover of the Day!
Thanks Sal

ReplyDeleteThe music is classic fiery Richard, and the vocal grew on me as it went. An encouraging glimpse.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this song much more than the initial song, Singapore Sadie. Long time fan, but I've lost track of him a bit the past few years.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the new T Bone Burnett tomorrow!

Speaking of other new releases, have you seen this one, Sal? It features Todd R on vocals on 21st Century Schizoid Man. Haven't listened yet...

one of the greats, and always happy to get new music from this one of a kind.
