Spellbound- Siouxsie & The Banshees
(I go on Siouxsie binges twice a year. "Juju" is always a great spin. Might hit "Tinderbox" later.)

Li'l Red Riding Hood- Sam The Sham & The Pharoahs
(Did you know there is a German Sam The Sham box from 1993 that has over 90 songs? I didn't until last week. I listened to a 25 track playlist I put together, most songs being new to me. Many sounded just like "Wooly Bully" and I grew tired. But I always loved "Li'l Red Riding Hood.")

Gotta Have Your Love- The Sapphires
(One of my all timers is a song called "Who Do You Love" by Philly soulsters The Sapphires. That's really all I knew by the band, and it's so good, it's all I thought I needed. But a new box was released in the U.K., "The Mod Top 100" and on that list is a Sapphires b-side that knocked me out. Here it is.)

Dyna-Mite- Jon Cleary
("Some say Dyna will. Some say Dyna won't. I say Dyna might. DON'T TELL NOBODY!")

Yeah Man!- Eddie Hinton
("Very Extremely Dangerous" isn't as good as it should have been. But this track from the guitar legend almost saves the day.)

Dumb Things- Paul Kelly

(I've been a fan since I first saw Paul Kelly open for Crowded House in 1987.)

Misfits- The Kinks

(The beautiful title track from the Kinks' best on Arista, which is a getting a new remaster any day now.)

Never listened to much Sam The Sham - always considered him a novelty act, but this track is awfully good.

You turned me on to Jon Cleary some time ago (thank goodness!) - some of his stuff is a little "smooth" for me, but most, especially the funky stuff (HIt, Git, Quit, Split), is right in my wheelhouse.

I've got a couple of Eddie H. albums (digital), including Dangerous. Just realized he's caucasian, what a voice!

Love the Sapphires - already have The Slow Fizz on my ipod. Glad to add Who Do and Gotta Have as well!

Stellar mix, thanks!

Randy

Dumb Things is one of so many great songs from Paul Kelly. An absolute legend in Australia, he should be bigger elsewhere.

Paul Kelly really is good. Sorry I haven't seen him yet in concert!
