The House Is Rockin' (With Domestic Problems)- Cheap Trick
Mama Told Papa- Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys
(If you dig this track, make listening to "Bayou Ruler" a priority, especially if you are yearning for a good mood.)
So Good- P. Hux
("Give me a rose, I'll kill it. Give me a glass, I'll spill it." So good.)
She Knows Me Too Well- The Beach Boys
(Something this gorgeous should have never been relegated to the b-side.)
Rosewood Bitters- Michael Stanley
(I knew this by Joe Walsh before I knew Stanley's original, which features Todd Rundgren on clavinet.)
Can't Stand It- Wilco
("No love as random, as God's love. I can't stand it. I can't stand it!"
Blue Sofa- The Plugz
(Have I mentioned that I think the two Plugz records are punk rock essentials? Yes, I have. Dozen of times. Don't let the word "punk" throw you. Listen and you'll see.)
The House Is Rockin' (With Domestic Problems)- Cheap Trick
(This was never a fave on "Dream Police," then one day, years later, it hit me. From Zander's delivery of "all day, all night, every day, every night" to Nielsen quoting The Beatles and The Yardbirds in the fade, this is classic Trick!)

Nice mix, Sal, especially P. Hux - This Is The One is one of my favorite albums of his.
I can't remember if it was you or someone else who turned me on to Ego Ella May, but I've taken a big, big dive into her stuff, especially Honey For Wounds and Fieldnotes Complete, which I've been listening to on repeat for the past few days. She sounds like Smokey Robinson on just a small touch of acid. Great stuff, highly recommended!

God, I'd forgotten how gorgeous that Beach Boys song is.
Sal, you clued me into P. Hux through Burning Wood - I'd never heard of him previously - and the song you posted a couple of years ago ("As Good As Advertised") became my favorite song of 2023. It's still one of the few songs I always play 3, 4, 5, 6 times in a row - never just once - because it's so perfect.
I bought that album of his with that song on it, but haven't gotten any more of his music. So thank you for posting this.
Do you have a favorite overall P. Hux album you'd recommend?
"Deluxe" is pretty great. My fave is "Purgatory Falls." It's a really heavy record, but worth every second.
Def wasn't me. First I am hearing of her name. Going to check her out. Thanks.
Thanks. And I see a recommendation for "This Is The One" above.
wish C C Adcock would release more stuff in his name
Rosewood Bitters is one of those songs played on a 70's free-form station, and you hear it years later and it explains why you listened in the first place. Thanks.
