And if New Orleans don't float your steamboat, here's a bonus.

From 2014, here are Scott Ligon, Casey McDonough, Nora O'Connor, Kelly Hogan and Alex Hall, aka The Flat Five captured live at Chicago's Hideout, performing the Beach Boys' "Friends" in its entirety.

I too love the music of NOLA. It's been several years since I've been there but I listen to the music on a regular basis. I love the Rock 'n' Bowl on a Thursday night--live music and dancing. Thanks for sharing.--RK

Some day...NOLA.

Super hot on the covers. Yesterday Rickie Lee Jones and today Jonatha Brooke's Eye In The Sky. Also looking forward to Friends. Nice forty in the pic, too.

While not specifically NOLA, I was recently listening to Joseph P Johnsons "Victory Stride" - he used many NO musicians when creating his piano compositions.

Looks like a great weekend mix. I'll check it out when we get home from French Quarter Fest. A highlight from yesterday was Kermit Ruffins' set. Setlist was less second line/do the Fat Tuesday and more standards with a jazz flavor. His band featured Torkanowsky on piano, Irvin Mayfield on bass and trumpet and some vocals, and Jason Marsalis on vibes. It was really sweet, I could watch Jason play all day.
