"The New York Knicks 6th Man Award for Game 4 of the NBA Finals is presented to Sal Nunziato for his heroic display of disgust, throwing the remote across the living room, shutting off the TV in the third quarter, and stomping off to bed, devoid of any hope only to miss the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history. Let's give it up, Knicks fans, for Sal Nunziato!"
A very cool Weekend Mix is under construction for tomorrow.
See you then.

I understand the honor that has been bestowed.
I went to the Daytona 500 for the first time in my life this year. Got there early, watched the pre-race concert. Sat thru most of the race; we left with 8 laps remaining to beat the mass exodus at the end and missed this.

I went to the NME concert in 1965, went to the bathroom and missed the Beatles. Top that!
Hope the remote survived! You should dedicate the weekend mix to everyone's favorite owner, J Dolan
I too missed, saw Joe Jackson's great show instead, we missed one of the greatest games of all time, in the greatest city. oh well you can take ur advance for ur autobiography to make down payment on a loan to purchase game 6 ticket if they lose game 5 in Texas
I have nothing against Peter Frampton, but he sure sucked the soul out of today's cover song.
I feel your pain, my friend. ๐
BTW, I went to see Elton John at the Garden once, and I left before the encores, thus missing John Lennon's surprise appearance for two songs. ๐
The band is Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn, Jamie Oldaker and Gary Mallaber.
Now I gotta listen to it again. Thanks.
Never leave early. Stay till the lights come on. Stay until the end of the ninth. What, so you miss the traffic?
You are not alone! There should be a tshirt.
Yes, always stay to the end. I was at a Peter Gabriel show in Atlanta years ago and after a couple of encores folks started streaming out of the arena. Then a spotlight hits Gabriel alone at a piano and he starts playing Here Comes the Flood. Those people in the parking lot missed a transcendent moment.
But I understand why Sal stopped watching the Knicks game. They were being humiliated on their own court. I only hung in there to Jose Alvarado, a Georgia Tech (my school) kid I enjoy seeing succeed in the majors. He played a role in this historic comeback. Sorry you missed it Sal, but I'm happy for you and Jose.
You can't say that "I left early to beat the traffic" on this one.
Sal I was hoping to find a .gif that was a Spurs player looking at the Knicks with the tag - "Who Are These Guys..."
(a la Newman/Redford๐)
Many years ago, in the pre internet era, on a Thanksgiving night, I went with a group of friends to an NBA game - the late, great, NO Jazz. There was a woman in the group that I really wanted to know more, and with about 2 mins left in the game, and the Jazz down by 10, the group wanted to head out to a local bar. The woman insisted on staying till the end of the game, and I agreed to stay, too and drive us to the bar afterward. Jazz down by 7 with 1 minute left and Pistol Pete takes over the game. Steals consecutive inbounds passes and scores both times, takes a charge and scores again. Down 1 with 6 secs left and puzzlingly the Jazz don't press or try to foul. But when the Nuggets player with the ball crosses mid court Maravich steals, and streaks down the baseline with 2 Nuggets players just draped all over him, and puts up a no look hook shot while in full stride that hits nothing but net. The woman and I are just not believing what we saw. Go to the bar, and no one there believes us and thinks we have just made up the entire story to goad them for leaving early. Next morning, phone rings and its one of the non believers: "MFer you weren't lying!!!"
NO S'..t - you saw Pistol Pete, droopy socks and all. He's in my personal Hall of Fame. 44.3 lifetime college. My Wife and I were just talking about him. He's in my Ted Williams
Thank you for your service, Sal.
Tragic and wonderful all at the same time. One more win!
