Well yes of course, Billy Boil was doing Phil, or should I say prisoner 1873015. Oh, poor Phil. What a way to go out. I guess it just proves you can't bring a woman home and shoot her in the mouth now can you.
Freaky, last week I saw him on an episode of I Dream Of Jeannie as a record producer with Boyce and Hart.
Absolutely what you would expect from this pairing, and what you would want it to be....big, Spectorian, and quite frankly, Boss-like in panorama....is that Bruce on the picture sleeve somewhere?...or on the track at all?...Either way, great....kudos to Joel for writing such a terrific homage in the first place....where do you find this stuff??
ON NEW YEARS EVE 1976 I ATTENDED A CELEBRATION AT THE 'STONE PONY' IN ASBURY PARK, N.J. THE "E STREET BAND PERFORMED WITHOUT BRUCE, BUT THERE WAS A GUEST APPEARANCE BY "RONNIE SPECTOR". SHE SANG WITH THE BAND AND DID THE LEGENDARY "SAY GOODBYE TO HOLLYWOOD" SHE WAS THERE WITH "STEVEN VAN ZANDT" AND THEY SURE DID ENJOY THAT PARTY AS DID EVERYONE THERE.I REMEMBER IT LASTED UNTIL 5AM AND IT SEEMED LIKE NO ONE LEFT UNTIL THEN, MANY LEAVING THEN TO ATTEND ANOTHER PARTY NOT FAR FROM THERE. I REMEMBER HOW SPECIAL THE "STONE PONY" WAS AT THAT TIME, ESPECIALLY WHEN "SOUTHSIDE AND THE JUKES" WERE THE "HOUSEBAND" THAT PLACE REALLY WAS AN ICON AND STILL FIND MYSELF TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT HOW SPECIAL IT WAS AND CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY TO HAVE BEEN THERE THOSE INITIAL YEARS. "EVERY NIGHT WAS A SURPRISE !!!!"

Although Clarence and the string section were way, WAY over the top, you're absolutely dead on: That song could have been written for her.
It really deserved a better arrangement.
A better arrangement?
Boy, do I disagree. That's a perfect record in my book. I wore out my vinyl copy within weeks of getting a promo copy back in the day.
