All Night Chemists
2016 began with a new project for me, playing drums with my friend and bass player extraordinaire Sal Maida behind the great songs of our friend, singer-songwriter John Dunbar. Our band, The John Sally Ride, played our first gig in January at the International Pop Overthrow. The audience loved it and so did we. So much so, we decided to make a record. We chose and rehearsed songs from John Dunbar's catalogue and away we went. Last week we finished the basic tracks for the last two of ten songs and sooner than later, you will hear the fruits of our very exciting labor.
But that's not why I'm here.
The John Sally Ride has been recording at Soundtronics Studios, run by the overwhelmingly talented Len Monachello, formerly of the band Thisway. His current band, All Night Chemists, has been on heavy rotation. I originally started listening to get an idea of what Len could do behind the boards, especially with the sound of the drums, because as you know, the drum sound is everything! Thrilled with what I heard, I continued listening because I began falling in love with the songs.
And that's why I'm here.
You will hear more about The John Sally Ride soon enough. Until then, check out two songs from All Night Chemists 2013 collection of singles, "Sleep Sound, Dream Awake, Live Loud."

Love it.
A Round About Way is an instant classic,
I've been an All Night Chemists fan for a while.
Check out Thisway as well. Their tune Undertow is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Great tunes and tremendous sound. You're obviously in extremely talented hands.
Great sounds, fine tune.
