I was very excited by the Weekend Mix I had been planning for today. But I ran out of blank CDs, and without those, nothing would be sequenced or tagged and I know that irks you as much as it irks me. It is also why there wasn't a SOTW mix last weekend. I did remember to order the discs, so this coming week will begin with three mixes.
For today, I would like to share some of the music from a record I have been obsessing over for the last few days, Tim Christensen's "Honeyburst." I first heard Christensen's music in 2013, and wrote all about it here. I was so taken by his "Pure McCartney" concert DVD, that I immediately bought everything I could find. It has taken this much time to fully appreciate all of his records, and I guess this week was the time for "Honeyburst."
Christensen's voice has the tone of Neil Finn and occasionally, the phrasing of Sir Paul. His songs have the qualities of both, but can also veer into harder territory. For what it's worth, "Honeyburst" hit me this week as his best. Take a more than 30 second listen.

He is very good, I am impressed. Loved the Pure McCartney project, going to seek more of his material. Thanks Sal
The only problem with Tim is that there isn't more music by him. A unique voice and great songwriter. WE WANT MORE!
I thought I was the last person in the world who bought blank CDs. Every time I buy a new spindle I think "This will last a lifetime" and then ...
Diggin' the Tim Christenson and looking forward to the mixes.
Thanks Sal. have a great weekend.
Was unaware of the new album’s existence - so very grateful for your site (yet again). Is it blasphemous to say I listen to Tim’s ‘Pure McCartney’ much more often than Paul and Linda’s ‘Ram’? And ‘Ram’ may very well be my favorite of his. Looking forward to this. Thank you, Sal.
Aside: iTunes shuffle brought me Radiohead’s ‘In Rainbows’ this evening. Loving it quite a lot today. More than I remember at its release. Perhaps I wasn’t ready then.
This is really good stuff. Chris Price and Tim Christensen
It is said of many great artists, but it's criminal that a man of his talent is a virtual unknown outside of Denmark.
I wonder if each country has a Tim Christensen.

I found a lot of similarities with the last Chris Price as well.
