Shelby is a treasure.

Sal, I've been meaning to check out Shelby but never have. Can you recommend a couple of her albums to begin with?

Randy,
Avoid her first five, unless you like real commercial country pop like Martina McBride. It wasn't until her makeover with 1999's "I Am Shelby Lynne" when she became a completely different artist. That record is still my favorite. I also love her record with her sister Alison Moorer- "Not Dark Yet." "Revelation Road" is a great one, too.

Just beautiful, Sal.

And when it was through, YouTube autoplayed this? Who is Jimmy Wayne? I’m off to find out.

Sal-
Great call on "I Am Shelby Lynne" and especially the album with her sister, Allison Moorer. The harmonies on that are breathtaking. Their version of Jason Isbell's "Color of a Cloudy Day" is one of the most mesmerizing things I've ever heard, it's almost otherworldly. There's a part where they are singing together "I could never find you in my dreams" over & over, and the song is building up, the drums kick in a bit more, and then they shorten it to "I could never find you", repeat that twice, and then one of them (not sure which one) hits a note on never that slays me every time. It's perfection.

A favorite since 1999. It never grows stale. Shelby’s delivery is spot on. Randy can meander through You Tube for more Shelby Lynne.

Shelby's I Am Shelby Lynne is a singular record and her finest moment. Her Just A Little Lovin', a tribute to Dusty Springfield is also quite fine.
