I don't know why you feel that way. We have a lovely Soviet style military parade to look forward today. Nothing screams Independence Day like bunch of military types flaunting their weapons.

The day after the 2016 election, I posted an upside down American flag as a sign f distress. I was taken to task by one of my 'FB' for 'desecrating' the flag. He had no understanding. Unfortunately, that's the mentality that is running and ruining this country.

Happy Fourth!

cmealha,
You should have seen the last four anonymous comments I ignored. Always anonymous. Why is that?

Gotta keep hope alive, or I can’t get out of bed in the morning.
After we (finally) dump the cruel corrupt clown, we need to channel some Gloria Gaynor.

Good post, no bullshit, straight talk. If anyone can't comprehend what's going on in the country right now they belong strung upside down by their feet. Get some blood flowing to their brain.

Sal, It's easy to espouse your bullshit when you hide behind the cloak of anonymity because there aren't any consequences.

From outside the US, we look on askance at the lies, aggression and buffoonery etc, then realise this is happening (albeit on a less dramatic scale) all over... UK is buggered whichever way it goes down, climate is shat on and no one seems to have the policial will do really do something... China is going to stomp on any form of human rights in HK... and so it goes.
Listening to Marvin "Whats going on" this morning perhaps Billy Bragg this afternoon... I'm pissed off.

For me, life is good. I say that because I have had a heart attack, I have seven stents in my heart, I have survived colon cancer, and so far, I wake up every morning. Music helped me through it all. The bullshit has always been there in the world and our country and while so many whine about it, they never have any realistic or sensible alternative, and most certainly never willing to take any action. The only alternative is death, and I have managed to have the good fortune to avoid it for a very long time. My mom once said “Who cares that you have holes in your pants, at least they are clean holes.” Living in self imposed stress and anxiety is not healthy. Good Luck.

Sorry for your troubles, Signtopia. Just don't think I agree with life or death, take it or leave it. Voicing displeasure with something may not be on the level as heavy duty activism, but we do what we can do. I'm glad we both wake up every morning. But wouldn't it be nice waking up to something we can be proud of?

Looking forward to playing 'Clown Time Is Over' next November.

No we are not.

And if we care about our families, our neighbors and the fate of the planet, it's our obligation to resist the world's rising Fascism by participating in our failing democratic systems. As someone wisely said: "We're the ones we've been waiting for."

Thanks to Sal for providing this forum.
