No Heart- The Vibrators
There are other great songs on The Vibrators punk classic "Pure Mania" than "Baby Baby." This is one of them.
Don't Be A Drop Out- James Brown
Thought of this one after seeing all the back to school chatter on social media.
Killing Time- The Last Detail
Thanks to cmealha for the heads up on this new track from A Girl Called Eddy, dba The Last Detail. New full length next year, or so she says.
I Can't Turn Around- The Marvelettes
Been on a Motown binge after watching the new Showtime documentary. This track is from the self-titled Marvelettes record, aka The Pink Album, one of the truly solid and consistent Motown albums in the label's discography.
Another Game- Grapefruit
Even more Beatles than Klaatu. Here is the opener from "Another Grapefruit."
Somewhere They Can't Find Me- Simon & Garfunkel
Another social media discussion, this time about Paul & Art. Seems a few people were listening to their records this week, including yours truly.
All That That Implies- Michael Penn
A friend said, "It took weeks to listen to the entire "Resigned" album because I just kept playing "All That That Implies," over and over. I had the same experience.
Enjoy the holiday.
And a heartfelt thank you to those who put a few coins in the Burning Wood anniversary till. It helps keep the music going and it is greatly appreciated. So, thank you.

Have not thought about Michael Penn in quite awhile. Really enjoyed his 1st album and will check this one out. Also always good to hear Motown deep cuts.
I've been listening to a lot of Paul Simon solo and S&G lately. In time, I think his stature will rise even more... we probably take his genius for granted because it's always been there. And like he's said in interviews, he isn't like Dylan in terms of cool. But man, what an artist. He's one of the few with a long career about whom I can't name more than a dozen "bad" songs he's written - his batting average is incredible.
Happy Birthday to Burning Wood! Eleven years old and damn close to being a teenager!
A walk in the woods is right. Other artists have had great runs of terrific albums -- Dylan, Mitchell, to name just two. But Paul Simon's extended run of excellence from Bookends through Graceland Rhythm of the Saints is amazing for lasting 22 years with virtually every proper studio album being very good to stunning. More than two decades without dropping a stitch is amazing.
Thanks for the zip & I'm still vibrating to The Vibrators track - a tasty one from the album where Stiff Little Fingers nicked their name from. And the Marvelettes track too. Great stuff as usual. Cheers!
