The Wizard- Black Sabbath
They might be the Godfathers of Heavy Metal, but underneath the evil riffs, Sabbath's music over the years has toyed with everything from jazz, blues and even a bit of funk. This track has a bit of everything and some of my favorite drumming in any genre, courtesy of Bill Ward.
Baby Don't Do It- Steve Cropper, B.B. King & Shemekia Copeland
"Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't DO it. DON'T do it. Don't DO it. DON'T do it."
This Town- The Tubes
Fee Waybill and gang covers Frank Sinatra and it WORKS!
Love Circles- Squeeze
My friend John (from The John Sally Ride) and I (one of the Sal's from The John Sally Ride) talked about how Squeeze's "Frank" is an unsung gem. I said I also felt that way about "Play." We both did agree though that this track from "Frank" is a real classic.
Believe It When I See it- Ron Sexsmith
Still waiting for the vinyl release of Sexmith's new one "Hermitage," and I decided to pull out 2011's "Long Player Late Bloomer" while I wait. This track remains my favorite on the album.
Popcorn- Los Straitjackets w/Deke Dickerson
A brilliant idea! Take instrumental hits and add lyrics. This entire collection from Deke & The Jackets is a killer, but "Popcorn" made the cut.
Making Rain- New York Dolls
The Dolls reunite with producer Todd Rundgren for this one.

Very Nice!
I dig the Deke Dickerson / Los Straigthjackets bigly!
Thanks for zipping it. The Sabbath track did the trick for me when it was the B-side of the Paranoid single way back in 1854 (some mistake surely - Ed). And Popcorn with lyrics? Gotta hear that. Cheers!
Thank you for Popcorn. Sent me on a wonderful Los Straightjackets trip today.
