When (My) Worlds Collide Part Two: Brit On The Bayou

Like many artists who have taken to the small screen during this crazy time, performing in-house concerts with a virtual tip jar, Glenn Tilbrook has gone a different route by posting a newly recorded cover song each week. It began with a tribute to Adam Schlesinger with a cover of Fountains Of Wayne's "Hackensack," and since then Tilbrook has posted four others.

This one hit home.

Listen to one half of Squeeze cover Louisiana legend Bobby Charles, with a song from Charles'  1972 swamp pop cult classic on Bearsville, "I Must Be In A Good Place Now."

I already loved Glenn Tilbrook, but I love him even more now knowing he loves this album.

Go to YouTube for more of Glenn's covers. Number 6 should be this week.

Thanks so much. Love Bobby Charles, my home state which is washing away & Tilbrook.

True story: When I was 18 and working as a bouncer/backstage door guy at the Kingfish in BRLA during a Meters show when what seemed to me an "old" (he was probably 40?) dude asked me to "borrow" 5USD until his friend got back. I shooed him away and he wandered a few feet off, watching the show. Danny Kertacy, one of the owners, saw all this, came up to me and asked me if I knew who that guy was, told me I was an idiot (fair), and went over and told Mr. Charles any drinks he wanted were on the house. After the evening was over (like 3AM), Doug, who worked the front door, Danny, and Jimmy from Leisure Landing sat me down and played me all sorts of his stuff. It was an education.
